cedric did this with biting and the above advice is good...be consistant and when it hurts say ouchie. it takes a bit and be sure there are plenty of safe/good things for to chew on. as far as brushing you gotta just let them sniff and get used to it. i had to go through 4 or 5 brushes until i found one he was ok with that didnt hurt him. good luck and welcome to yt.
