Welcome to Yorkie Talk Stacey and congrats on your new puppy!

How old is Cocoa? Usually puppies learn not to bite from their moms during between 8-12 weeks of age. Work on teaching her the words, "no bite." Remove your hands so that she nothing to bite at, and don't hold her close to your head. If you are cuddling her close to your head, she is probably treating your head the way a pup treats litter mates -- wrestling and nipping. Give her a toy or something say to chew and nip at.

Always be calm and confident when you correct her, never angry. Yorkie puppies can be little balls of energy and don't always want to sit and cuddle.

For brushing, work with her each day. Choose a time when she is worn out from playing. The more relaxed she is, the more likely she will accept grooming. Massage before brushing has always worked with my boys. Touch her ears, paws, belly, everything each day. Be patient. Let her sniff the brush. Praise her when she lets you brush. Reward her with a small treat.
