We must be related cuz strangely I did the exact same thing a last month (I wasn't sewing though)...and OUCHHHHHHH - I cried too, infact I cringed reading this....I will tell you that I filled up a bowl of water put 2 ice trays in it and let it soak for 15 mins and out 15 mins - for about 2 hours IT WORKS..I didn't get a horrid painful blister, it was burned and red but hard almost like scaley..no blister...good luck and sorry your having one of my nights...

p.s. I cracked up when I read title of thread!!
