Allow me to explain further:
Ten people are running a race.
They all start off together so nobody is yet winning.
Over the course of the race one person pushes ahead......THAT PERSON IS WINNING but as the race is still on the person is not yet the winner.
During the race the lead person is overtaken by another runner so that runner is now "WINNING" but again is not yet the "WINNER".
Eventually the lead person crosses the finishing line making the lead person the first to cross the line and the race is now OVER.
NOW we have a WINNER and that person can now safely say those words........................ |
