Jilleen, I live in Arab, AL and I had to put mine on comfortis. Its the only one that would work up here. I tried the topical like frontline and advantix and neither of those worked with the fleas. Comfortis had the fleas killed within 30 minutes and works for a month. During the summer, I give them one every month and the winter about every 2 months. I also treat my back yard inside my fence to help with the fleas too. Hope this helps!
