Hi - New here and I need advise Although I'm not new to yorkies, I owned the love of my life for 13 yrs. before he died. I waited several years before I bought another one. Cricket is 7 months old and is very small. I bought her when she was 6 wks. old. I saw her parents and they were both small (about 4 lbs. each) so I assumed that she would be about the same size. I took her to the vet the day after I bought her and had her checked. She is healthy and is up to date on all her shots, worming etc. My worry is she is not small but TINY. When I had her spayed at 6 months old she weighed 1 lb. 11 ozs. I am scared to death that I will be headed for a huge heartbreak with all the talk that a tiny one has health issues. I am SO attached to her it would just kill me if anything happened to her. Do any of you have a tiny one like her and is there anything that I need to watch for? The lady I bought her from has a male and two females and only has one litter a year from each of the females. You can tell they are well loved and taken care of and as a matter of fact she has called several times checking on Cricket to see how she is doing and I have sent pictures at Halloween and Christmas to her so we keep in touch.
She is very careful who she sell her puppies to so I am sure she it an honest person. I didn't pay an arm and a leg for her as she is more concerned about a good home for her pups than she is the money, as I said she screens folk pretty carefully before she will sell one. I guess what I need most is for some reassurance that my little one will be okay. Please let me hear from some successful tiny yorkie owners.
By the way I just love this forum and have enjoyed coming here. I have learned so much from just lurking about and reading about each of your special little ones.
Thanks for any input.
Judy
