Maggie lets me suds the top of her head, just right on top, between her ears, and under her chin. I put her in the sink and use the hand sprayer. I make sure to control the pressure so it only goes where I direct it. I do it like I did my kids and use the side of my hand to make a dam so it doesn't go down into her eyes. She has floppy ears, so that probably helps keep it out of her ears, can you bend the ears down with your hand while you wash? She sort of naturally tilts her face up so the water runs down the back of her neck. I do under her chin the same way. I use a washcloth for the rest of her face (nose to forehead). I don't use much shampoo on the head area and I give her a break by not using the conditioner there either.
Never any health/injury problems with bathtime. I do not like when she decides to give a soaking wet shake though! |
