It seems extra bad right now b/c you are tired. Norman cried in the night to go to the bathroom - his bladder was just too small to last the whole night. We would get him up half way through the night for a 'squirt' and then right back into the crate - of course there was a 'back step' when my DH brought him into our bed after the squirt (big mistake b/c he wanted to be there all the time).
As others have mentioned the crate s/b small, like a cave. He has his blankie from the breeder in there and we cover the crate with another blanket so it's cozy.
