I bought a little stuffed toy with a heartbeat in it and my dog slept on top of it in his kennel. I put him in a large kennel at first with a piddle pad at one end in case he needed it at night. I trained both my yorkies this way and never had a problem with them. My oldest is 4 and he still carries his stuffed toy around at times. Good luck!
