I tried to crate ZoE at bedtime and broke the third night and just took her to bed with me. She's been there every night since.
But, now here's the strange part....I still have her crate sitting out and there are times that she will just take herself of to it and go nap in there! And she goes in there when she wants to get away from things...people visiting, the vacuum cleaner, etc. So, a rough start doesn't necessarily mean your puppy will hate the crate.
