Welcome to YT and Congrats on your new puppy! Some puppies do cry when you first bring them home...I have 3 of them (2 females are adults now and we just got Bentley...he was 5 months old when we got him...7 months old now)and only one of them cried at night...The girls sleep with us now but Bentley is tiny and will probably stay in a crate to sleep...This is what I did,..make sure the crate isn't too big...I have a nice fluffy bed pulled up to the front of the crate. The breeder gave me a blanket with the scent of his mom on it,..and a soft toy...I put these in the crate with him..I took a good sized blanket and kind of made a circle with it so he would be really cozy...I put an old blanket over the crate..The crate is in our bedroom...He has never cried..Lillie was the one that gave us a hard time...I did the same thing for her but she was much younger (too young actually)...took her a couple of weeks before she completely stopped the whining...I'm sure others will reply to this with other ideas....this did work for me though...your just going to have to put up with the whining and crying for a while until he/she gets used to it...Good Luck!
