Sadie did this once. She chewed off a small portion of the rubber underneath the door.
I had her in the laundry room that has two doors.
What I did was leave one door open, and instead of shutting the door, I cut a peg board, just the size to fit the width of the door.
Then, I cut it short enough so she could not jump over it. This gives her the feeling that she is not totally shut into one room.
As for the other door, the one that she chewed the rubber strip partially off, I simply put a 2 x 4 in front of the door so she cannot get to it.
I only put her in the laundry room if my parents cannot keep her when I am gone, or if I am gone for more than three hours.
Now, I don't use the 2 x 4 anymore and she has not chewed.
She is a little over three years old, and this is the only thing she has ever chewed on. Of course, I got her just ten mos. ago, so she was through the puppy stage.
I think the peg board worked, as she felt too shut in.
Do you leave the TV or radio on when you are gone? This may help.
Hope this helps.
