That is a tough situation and believe me, we have been there. If I still lived in Okemos, I'd have an easy solution to your problem, we have been looking for people to trade Yorkie sitting with for years around here, but it seems the alliances are already set and we missed the boat, and its too far for us to go to the closest Yorkie Meet up much anymore in any case. Of course any small dog owner would be fine, but its much harder when you have 2 like we do as well. We are close to the Old Towne Pet Resort, and I think that is our best option in case our only dog trustworthy friends can no longer handle it or are not available. I also would not trust a stranger house sitting for our guys or a random MSU student answering an add. Leaving them in a dog friendly hotel is not actually that bad of an option. The barking would hopefully be only in the day when no one is around, we have done that before and had no complaints even with a big barker. Good luck.
