OK, I'm the one that always encourages everyone to spay before the first heat but Gracie was not spayed until she was a year old because of her small size. We had zero problems with the potty issues. I don't know if age has a thing to do with it but I guess the longer they do a thing the more engrained it would be in their brain.

I have read that the operation it's self can sometimes effect the bladder because they are in that area during the surgery and can accidentally damage the area. I guess that is something you can look up and read up on. Someone already mentioned it as spay incontinence. On rare occasions it can be a long term problem. I doubt very much that would be what you are dealing with. It's probably just a matter of retraining.
