I'm not sure about out-growing sjeeping habits learned as a young pup...
As a new puppy I would hold ZoE inside my zippered hoodie, throw the hood up, and she'd nuzzle her face against my neck inside the hood. She still likes to do this if she wants to nap when home during the day. It was fine when she was tiny.
