The reporter doesn't provide a copy (or link) of a detailed report as to where he's getting his statistics. I'm always leary of reports with "statistics" as its easy to play with numbers.
That said, the kill rate he's talking about is on par with the local shelters in my area. I don't know where PETA shelters are located.
How many months, years, are shelters supposed to house animals in hopes they get adopted? What about the ones that never do?
People just need to spay & neuter their animals. My biggest gripe with my local shelters is that they allow adoption of unaltered animals!!! When many times these same shelters turn away animals because they are filled to capacity, what the heck are they doing letting any unaltered animal back out into the world???
