I have never understood how PETA gets away with this? If this wasn't PETA but an individual rescue, the rescue founder would be in jail or facing a judge for animal cruelty charges.
I've read where PETA states most of the dogs/cats they take in are in such bad shape there is no other alternative but euthanasia. But I don't believe it could possibly be true that such a high percentage of their take-ins couldn't be helped. If another group could rehabilitate most of the pits seized from Michael Vick, then surely more of the PETA animals could have been saved.
PETA is supposed to be a charitable organization......the unnecessary killing of innocent animals isn't charitable
I know PETA is responsible for many good things with regard to animal rights/protection, and typically doesn't care what the general public thinks of their actions. I do wonder just how many of PETA's supporters are aware of their euthanizing so many animals. If they are not aware and were made so, I then wonder just how many would continue to support PETA?
