Hi , you are so right about no hitting.
Hitting only makes the puppy scared.
Try teaching her the leave it command.
That works for just about everything.
Start out with a little treat.
Get her to sit in front of you, put the treat on the floor and say
" leave it" , if she starts to move don't say the command again just say
ah, ah , ah, when she is still then say "leave it" . If she is still for a second say "ok, get it"... Then tell her how good she is.
Just keep practicing this till she can leave it longer and longer.
Once she knows what "leave it" means . You can use this command when she is tugging on your clothes, say "leave it" and when she does give her a toy . Hope this helps |
