I agree with Kathy's suggestion to test a few more times leaving the house to see if the behavior is repeated. If it is senility or any age-related thing, I would think you would see other signs. Same if it were a health issue. Does he seem clingy when you are home? Is he sleeping more than usual? Any changes in appetite?

Maybe it has something to do with Razzle returning home and taking more of mommy's time? Magic had more of your attention while Razzle was away. Was the length of time greater than what it was in the past?
Kristin; Airedales are about 50% of body weight of BRT;s. Unfortunately the larger/heavier the dog, the shorter the lifespan.

Magic is not sleeping more than usual. His appetitie is great! I leave home all the time, regularly for work n such. But two wks from now, I have to help out at Purina Nationals, and Razzle will come with me, to be part of the meet the Breed booth, Magic will come on a different day for same reason, so that can mimic last wkends situation.

Razzle came home about the same amount of time he was away the first time; three weeks, But both are older the second time.

I think we both need to figure out stuff now, with his health condition. He has been severly restricted from exercise as I do physio and chiro.
