Personally, I wouldn't panic. Every dog reacts to change a little differently, and you are still learning his "habits". I would only start fooling around with his diet if I saw that he was straining to go but couldn't. Won't hurt to have a can of pumpkin around (I always keep some for emergencies), but I wouldn't worry yet.
