I agree, the more time I spend with people, the more time I'd rather spend with my babies at home! As long as everyone is fully vetted and well cared for it's nobody's business but my own.
I don't really have many hobbies, so I spend all my money on my furkids. I get so much enjoyment from spoiling them! Plus, I really believe in rescue. My pups came from a breeder, but the last two kitties were rescued. My Coco had been abused and it took about a year for her to get over being hand shy. We couldn't make any sudden movements around her or she'd jump and run off. It about broke my heart. Now that she's been here a couple years, she is not so skittish. She's just about the sweetest, gentlest little soul I've ever met. We adopted my little Figaro from a rescue that saved him from a high kill shelter. It was so satisfying to help animals in need and the love they give us is so much more than I could ever have imagined. I would love to be able to help another little furry soul. Plus, it's hard to totally tell her coloring from her head shot, but this little Frenchie looks mostly black. Apparently there is something called
black dog syndrome that makes it much harder for rescues to adopt out black dogs and cats. I think it's crazy, but I guess it's true. That makes me want her even more.
