I don't know about "side effects" in animals taking Prednisone ... but I can tell you first hand what improper use will do to humans. An idiot [who called himself a doctor] gave it to my Mom for two years straight for asthma. Long term use, it seems, affects your bones and she had compression fractures in her back and was in a brace for 6 months & required round the clock care!! She is now in the latter stages of COPD and cannot walk!

I know the drug properly administered for short periods of time is great for some symptoms, but please be very careful and question your vet about it's long term use. I hope little Tucker will be feeling better soon! We will keep him in our prayers. Please keep us updated!
