Quite a few 'exotic' pets are being turned loose in Florida...pythons, large lizards, etc. As 'legalities' make exotic ownership more difficult, people let them go...sometimes to avoid detection and/or punishment whether or not the 'exotics' arrived here 'legally'...also, when the exotic pets become less manageable by getting older and larger...ditto. These are not native to Florida and makes it somewhat challenging for the critters as well as dangerous for people and pets. I do not know what the answer is...responsibility doesn't seem to be working all that well.
