Default Crate VS Pack N Play?

So Peanut has a crate and a Pack N Play- I attached the pics of the ones I have- Well his crate is in my bedroom in the closet- he has a big throw blanket in there and a blanket on top so its like his little "man cave" His crate is the large one- so he has tons of space in there. I also have to old pillows on the bottom that are his bed, I didn't have a bed that fit it so I just made my own-

The pack n play is in the living room- he has a big Costco bed in there with a big throw as well- Both areas have a dish of water and dish of food- No pad bc he holds it..

Well he use to love going in his pack n play- when he would see me get ready to go he would already be waiting by the pack n play for me to put him in there. He would only go in his crate at night-

For the past month he has been wanting to go in his crate- I will go to leave and he will run in the bedroom and go lay in his crate- I figured he really wants to be in there so I will just leave him.

Also the strange thing is when I or DH gets home and he is in his Pack n play it seems like we cant get him out fast enough- When he sees us he will start jumping up and down for us to get him out of there, but when he is in his crate and I go get him out, he kinda cruises out, I open the door and he gets up slow, walks half out and then stretches then shakes and walks out and wants to give me love-

It is so strange- It is like 2 different personalities LoL! I feel bad for leaving him in his crate but he obviously wants to be in there- so I don't know-

Does it sound like strange behavior or just normal Yorkie behavior haha!??
