I don't think you need to do much grooming on a new puppy, but as everyone else has already said, it's a great idea to get your puppy used to your touch, mouth, teeth, around the eyes, brushing, paws, ears. If you do this it will be a lot easier to handle your dog when it really does need grooming or care.
