It could be a number of things. You sure should call the vet's office and let them know. They need to know about any form of reaction so they can be aware of things that can possibly happen to other pets.

It could be that it caused some irritation to the tissue around the area and she is scratching because it bothers her. The vet may be able to give her something until the area heals properly.

I could feel Gracie's chip for a few months after it was placed but it didn't seem to bother her. Now I can't find it when i try to find it.
