my girl zowi had a bout of pancreatitis last september and has other health conditions. (hypothyriod, cushing's disease) she has been on blue buffalo healthy weight chicken and brown rice (6% fat) dry kibble. we use blue buffalo optimal calorie whitefish canned (4% fat) for giving medications. (these foods also have low protein, which is good for my girl's liver issues.) she has lost weight, cholesterol has lowered, has less gas, and has not had any more pancreatitis problems since on this food. blue buffalo just came out with a new small breed healthy weight formula that i was considering but it's higher in fat and proteins so i'm sticking with the "adult" version. our vet recommended finding the lowest fat possible with low protein and moderate fiber, but this was specifically for my zowi and her several conditions. best of luck to you in finding what works best for your baby and specific needs! |
