The breeder told me to use Nutri-Cal, she said it prevented hypoglycemia. My vet disagreed. When he checked her the day after I picked her up from the breeder, she was slightly hypoglycemic and he told me to discontinue the Nutri-cal. He said if my pup was healthy and active not to use it at all. Zoe has been very energetic and healthy without it. He said check the label, it's mostly corn syrup and can actually create sugar imbalance. That's his opinion, but thought I should post. I have Nutri-Cal that the breeder game me, and once in a while, maybe once a week, I give Zoe a dab as a special treat. She's small, 2 lbs at 5 months, so I don't know, but I went with the vet's opinion.

For what it's worth,
