It's awesome that your on stop of this right off the bat! Just like with kids, I firmly believe that dogs need to be taught proper behaviour in order to successfully socialize in society. No one appreciates a brat, of the skin or fur variety

This is what has worked best for me. A firm NO followed by turning away and ignoring for a minute. Yorkies want to please so badly and seem to know when they've disappointed you, so use it to your advantage in training. And then praise, praise, praise the positive!
