You're mistaken. Parti color yorkies are very much real and completely registrable with the AKC. Partis are allowed to compete in AKC events with the exception of conformation showing. Because the parent club (YTCA) sets the yorkie standard and has refused to recognize the parti as a legitimate color variety of yorkie, they are not shown in conformation.
