I am at the other end of the life cycle. We brought home 3 poodle puppys 10yrs ago. The joys of watching them play and bond over the years is priceless. The ONLY down side is having,now 2 poodles, the same age and taking care of them and the health issues that sometimes accompany being older. We lost one of the twins last March and that is how I ended up here.
I would like to reccommend having insurance on the both of them and making sure that you have a doggie emergency fund that you add to every month. After that all I can say is go for it. Enjoy watching them grow up together and become the best of friends.
