I don't know if you can help or maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
My brother, Kent Smithiger, passed away in September, although his body was not discovered until October. The paramedics broke through one of his french doors to recover his body. They say they didn't see a dog but his new little Yorkie would have been easy to overlook. The door was not repaired or secured prior to my arrival on 10/26. Kent lived in Tanoan, and the little female Yorkie he had was probably less than a year old. He lost his previous male Yorkie, Rye, in March of 2004 and I don't know how long he waited before he got his new puppy. He travelled a great deal internationally so I know he boarded both dogs occasionally, but I don't know who to contact.
I am just heartbroken over the thought of that little girl missing. She would be all I have left of Kent.
I am hoping perhaps you have heard of someone "finding" (rescuing) a Yorkie in that area of Albuquerque around that time. Or maybe you can give me an idea of where to start looking. I have checked with the mobile groomers he used and the kennel and vet but no one seems to have seen her. All of Kent's neighbors tell me they last saw Kent and the dog right around Labor Day and they think the dog's name began with a M.
Any help would be appreciated. I plan to be back in Albuquerque in a few weeks to do some more work at his home and with the attorney.
