Feedback needed please. About 2.5 weeks ago, I was playing around with a flashlight at night with my grandbaby and when I came across my 12 month old Yorkie's pee pad. I noticed that the peed area was sort of 'irridescent' (for lack of a better description) so I got scared and looked it up on the net. All I could find were references to urine crystals - but that didn't seem to describe what I am seeing in the pee pad - these are too small to see and certainly too small to have any discernable shape at all. They sort of remind me of an irridescent face powder
To be safe, his vet ran routine urine and blood tests; all are negative. The pee pads are covered with layers of newspaper. Should I switch him over to a food that is for urine crystals anyway to be safe
or might that cause problems that aren't there? Last month I did slowly switch him to another brand. Crap, the kibble is now in a couple of glass canisters and don't have the name now. Another idea I had was to take him to another vet for a consult (although mine is supposed to be very good and has treated him well so far - did his neutering, baby tooth removal, etc., and has no problem taking my money most of the time!). However, I still see some irridescence. Can tests be false negative? Oh, he is very energetic, eats well, wants to play ALL the time, and he walks me
daily. I work at home and know that he's probably not gotten into anything. We are well 'baby proofed'. Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas? I want to be safe but don't want to make problems where there aren't any.
