I remember how painful it was to not get sleep when we first got Kona. I agree with the others that it probably is a combo of his needing to go potty and also not liking being alone.
Here are some suggestions that might help:
1. Pick up him water bowl after dinner. This might help his last longer through the night.
2. As others have mentioned, keep crate in your room til he's a little older.
3. Cover his crate with a small hand towel to keep it really dark and cozy
4. To help ignore him when he's just wanting to play, I used ear plugs.
5. Maybe change his food from kibble to raw. We noticed that when we switched our dogs food to raw, he drinks a lot less water because his food is not dry which makes him not need to potty as much.
