Extra cuddles would be good for the both of you. You need her and she needs you. You need to tell her what is going on. I personally believe that our furbabys know our heart and if you explain it to her she will get it.
I had an older lady tell me,when I got my yorkie,to never leave her and not explain it to her. So even if I am going to be absent for just a few hours or a day or two,I explain it to Mina. I even tell her who will be caring for her. I know it may sound silly but the one time I didnt tell her,she was so hurt.
