My vet says he is keeping the small toy dogs a little while after the vaccine more often these days. He said he sees more reaction in daschunds than yorkies in his practice, but he likes to err on the side of caution w the little ones. He also recommends giving the Lepto separate in the little ones.
Sophia is a trooper, she doesn't even yelp when she gets vaccines. Peyton is much more sensitive.

We made the mistake of giving him his rabies vaccine at the same time of his other vaccines. We will never do that again. He kept crying out...it was horrible. He wouldn't let the vet touch him. We stayed for a while and my vet gave him some pain reliever to help. She also flagged his account to make sure we take extra care with his vaccinations from now on. My poor little sensitive guy.

I have a really great vet. I feel so fortunate to have found her.
