I had my gallbladder surgery when I was 23 and it wasn't even offered laparoscopic back in the mid 80's so it was done open. Like you I also have a lot of scar tissue and have had 2 other abdominal surgeries open because of this issue. The one this that I would ask about would be your chance of a ventral hernia after multiple abdominal surgeries. I've had to have my ventral hernia repaired twice because my abdominal wall is so weak from surgery. Good luck and keep us posted on what they say.
