I can understand why you'd be upset! Why on earth would they cut her topknot?
I used to bring my shih tzu to be groomed. They always did a decent job, but I'm very picky and would find little things that bothered me every time. I kept him in a full coat with a top knot and they knew that I wanted the hair by his eyes kept longer so that it wouldn't poke into them. The last time I took him to be groomed, he'd SHAVED from the bridge of his nose, up between his eyes and looked ridiculous. I gave up on his full coat as he mats so easily and he dislikes topknots, but I got my own grooming tools and do his hair myself.
Belle, my Yorkie, has never been to a groomer, I do everything myself. Every once in a while I think about bringing her in to a professional groomer, then I read one of these posts and remember why I've always done it myself.
