Just to reinforce...you are totally doing the right thing by denying access to the bed. Growl and snap equals loss of bed privileges. NO EXCEPTIONS. It won't take long to get the message, if he covets his bed time.
Also, I think it's a good idea for Zeus to hang out with hubby until bedtime. Dori does this, because I retire early and she and daddy stay up and watch TV together. Then he walks her, brushes her and puts her in her bedside kennel.
The nighttime routine (like others) needs to be consistent and soothing. Maybe daddy could get in some extra play time, training or treat time before bed.
And you BOTH need to be on the same page!
