My opinion, you should do what feels right to you. If it were me, I would ask the particular surgeon how many gallbladder surgerys they have done, what are the risks, etc. If you are not comfortable with a particular doc, never feel bad about choosing another.
We are our own best advocates for our care, the more involved we get with it, the better. If you have a choice of doctors, then you should be comfortable choosing the one you feel at ease with. JMO
