Hi! My hubby and i got a new pup about a month ago as well. As for the pooping outside she won't do it either. She wont even pee outside here. Although i'm convinced its cuz its too cold out there, seeing as its almost too cold for me especially with the snow.
As for the crate training, we were having the exact same problem at night, she would just cry and cry and wouldn't stop until finally we took her crate into the bedroom with us. She's still locked inside but now she doesnt even make a peep!
They just love being in the same room as you. WHen she starts to wine now i just give her a little SHHHH and she stops and goes right to sleep.
