I acquired all my pups when they were older, 2-5 years old. It only took about 1-2 weeks to break them out of jumping up on the furniture. I would watch them, and then pick them up and put them on the chair or sofa whenever they wanted up, and then watch them for when they wanted down, and help them to get down.

Usually once a day we go in the bedroom, and I put everyone up on the bed for playtime for about 30 minutes, then we all get off the bed one at a time. Sometimes one or two like to have a nap on the bed, but they will wait and bark for me to come get them when they wake up.

I don't have a problem with dogs jumping, it's the overextending that can cause injury. The furniture and bed is just too high, even for my bigger pups, and jumping down is just as dangerous.
