Our wonderful breeder already started Toto's pad training before we brought her home at 16 wks. She instructed us how to keep it up and we did. We simply praised her and in the beginning gave her a little Cheerio treat. She always pees/pottys on the pad regardless of where she is ... home, flying, visiting, etc. I simply put a pad down and show her where it is. She will not, however, pee/potty on a pad that already has been used.
Yes, it takes more pads but she gives us so much joy, I figure that's the least we can do for her ... she is 8 years old and not a day goes by that we do not thank God that we have her in our life.
BTW, when we walk her, if she needs to go, she will also pee/potty ourside.
