Good for you! That's what I did to discourage Kaji from marking. I caught him in the act every single time, and he did catch on really quick. He stopped marking indoors completely!!! I do feel bad about taking that away from him completely (he is a dog after all) so I tape a piddle pad half up the wall. It's encouraged him to use the pads faithfully. I don't know if you'd be willing to do the same, but it sure has helped me.
