We use the lap part of the belt as well. I do wish that the little black band would expand a bit more. We got the little food/water tray that snaps onto the front of KS's Snoozer and she cannot reach it if she is snapped in. I may try moving hers to the chest part to see if it's better. She is pretty good about staying in her seat when we put her in there.
