You're right; it does treat other types of worms. Some heartworm meds contain ivermectin, which some resources say is the preferred treatment for threadworms. I'm not sure if the recommended dosage is the same dosage in the heartworm meds though (didn't look). Sentinel contains a different active ingredient. I am not sure if it can be used to treat threadworm (not in vet med). The link I posted states some of the different types of worms that can be treated w Sentinel.
I think in the other link I posted from Merck it recommends ivermectin.
