First of all give NewYorkBrandy a break....she is not going to do anything that is harmful to her Brandy. In reference to controlling barking every dog is different. With Bella I have tried everything...pennies in a can...made her bark more....spray bottle...licked it up and thought it was a game...citronella bark collar...at first she would just growl not bark but when something really got to her she would empty the can. At $7.00 a can for the spray and $100.00 for the collar...waste of money...not including going through batteries every 3 to 4 days. I tried rewarding for not barking...punishing for barking nothing works. I have just realized she is a barking dog....I spoke to my vet and she told me what Bella is barking at...people coming to the door or other dogs in the yard is normal dog behavior. What she told me to do is to distract her from whatever it is that is causing her to bark. It is still a work in progress with me. |
