I saw that you said he uses newspaper to potty at night in the kitchen - is he pee pad trained also? If so, you can put him in your room with a pad and close your door. That's what we do with Jack - he is pad trained and trained to go outside, so if he really has to go while we are sleeping, he goes on his pad. Jack has never once peed in our bed either and I believe that is true with a lot of others here. Good luck!
