oh i would also like to point out.... when you pay for a custom matting you are paying for the mat, and for each cut that is made to complete the mat to your specifications. . . The problem here is this: the sheets of matting that are used are HUGE, but if you are having a small custom frame job done (say an 8 x 10) you are still paying for the HUGE mating and the extra that can be reused on someone elses picture AND that other person will be paying full price as well for left over mating ect..
The frames are all sent out on order to the frame supply warehouse and they are cut to the lengths on the paperwork, there is no overcharging on these because it is all truly custom done... but the mating practices are a little "shady", the person paying for a custom frame job does not get the extra mating left over from the job, and if they ask, the answer is going to be NO, or SURE THAT WILL BE such and such amount of money
