There was several news presentations about that last year... I think some people totally lost their refund. They did not file until the theives had already received the money. I could not believe it!
I have a credit keeper... I get notified when there is any activity (so far it has just been me) but I have noticed it takes a few days so maybe I will move to life lock. In today's world credit is important .. There needs to be more protection for us.

LOL!! Well I'm not getting a whole lot back, but apparently what the thieves are doing is a Fake W-2. I found out a co-workers son had it done a couple years back. They made up a salary and all the numbers. He Finally got his actual refund back but it took about a year.
It's Extremely Annoying!!
I did call DC State tax people and they said that they had not had a filing yet for my Social Security Number so it seems they only did Federal.
